Nokia 3 vs Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime vs Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace vs Coolpad Note 5: Specifications compared
Nokia has made its comeback globally under HMD Global's supervision, and it is [now set to make its big debut] in India this quarter. The company is expected to launch Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, and Nokia 3310 (2017) in the market soon, and we look at all the smartphones it is set to compete with.
While comparing these smartphones would require a price tag, a rough estimate can be drawn looking at the European price. We take the Nokia 3 and pit it against smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace, and Coolpad Note 5, to see how the Nokia model fares against the competition in the market.
Price
Nokia 3 price in Europe is EUR 139 (roughly Rs. 9,800), and we can expect the smartphone to launch priced between Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 10,000. In comparison, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace, and Coolpad Note 5 are priced at Rs. 8,999, Rs. 8,490, and Rs. 10,999 respectively. Please note however, that it is tough to compare the Nokia 3 directly with these price tags, as the final price may differ depending on taxes and duties.
Specifications
You can see the detailed Nokia 3 specifications in comparison with Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace, and Coolpad Note 5 in the table below, but just to point out the big differences, the Coolpad Note 5 has the biggest screen at 5.5-inches (1080x1920 pixels), while the others sport a 5-inch display with lower resolution. Xiaomi and Coolpad both offer Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, while the others, including Nokia 3, are powered by MediaTek processors. Nokia falls behind in memory, RAM, battery, and camera specs as well, with Coolpad coming on top, followed by Xiaomi. However, amongst the four smartphones, Nokia is the only one to offer Android 7.0 Nougat software, while the others run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Design
The Coolpad Note 5 looks the most premium of the lot; however, at this price band, functionality precedes design. The Coolpad Note 5 and Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime support fingerprint scanning, and have mounted the sensor at the back, while Nokia and Samsung smartphones lack the biometric sensor. This could be a big deciding factor among consumers while purchasing a smartphone.
